Trump Invites Families of Injured National Guard Personnel to White House

Former President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he has invited the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He noted that he conversed with her family and they were “devastated”.

Background on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their memory.

Presidential Offer

The president stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president informed the press. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Attendees came together over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of the president’s national effort to assist policing efforts in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that teachers wished for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that inspired people around her,” the principal, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the media. “She was sweet, compassionate and always ready to assist people.”

Funeral plans for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Measures and Policy Changes

Authorities have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The event prompted the government to halt asylum processing and halt issuing visas to holders of Afghan passports.

Condition of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general the attorney general stated on the program that she aimed to visit Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a law enforcement officer with excellence, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had courage,” he addressed the gathering at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
