The Co-Creator of Call of Duty, Dies in a Los Angeles Traffic Collision

The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.

The celebrated game designer died after his automobile collided and caught fire on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and our hearts are with his family and friends, his family, and all those touched by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
