Football Expert Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the global break, but will the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

My son advised me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
