Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
These allegations come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
